What we collect

When you create an account we store your sign-in identity (Apple or Google), your name if you share it, and the answers you give during onboarding (skin type, concerns, goals). When you use the app we store your face-scan results (scores, metrics, AI tips) and your product-scan history.

Face data (selfies)

When you choose to run a skin scan, the app collects a single selfie — a photo of your face — taken with your camera or selected from your photo library. It is used for one purpose only: to analyze the visible condition of your skin and generate your USkin Score, skin metrics, concerns and skincare tips. It is never used for facial recognition and is never used to identify you.

The selfie is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to our backend and to our AI provider, Anthropic (Claude), solely to perform this analysis. Anthropic processes it only to return the assessment and does not use it to train its models. We do not share your face data with any other third party, and we never sell it or use it for advertising.

The selfie itself is not retained on our servers — it is processed only momentarily to produce your results and is then discarded. Only the resulting scores and text (never the photo) are saved to your private account, and you can delete them at any time (see “Deleting your data”). On your device the photo is held only in memory during the scan.

Where data lives

Your data is stored with Supabase on servers in the European Union, protected by row-level security so only your account can read it. Subscription status is processed by Apple and RevenueCat; we never see your payment details.

Product data

Product lookups use the Open Beauty Facts public database. Your scans of products are linked to your account so you can see your history.

Deleting your data

You can delete your scan history anytime from Profile → Delete my scans. You can permanently delete your entire account and all associated data directly in the app using the Delete account option (on your Profile); this removes your account and data immediately.
